When passion meets purpose, change becomes inevitable.
In September 2025, our partner Joshua Olang’, CEO of G.H.C Kenya, returned to his roots — Akado Primary School in Seme Sub-County, Kisumu County — with a mission close to his heart: to empower the girl child.

Joshua’s journey from these humble classrooms to leading a healthcare company that trains and employs caregivers for aging individuals is nothing short of inspiring. Through his company, G.H.C provides both medical and non-medical care, nurturing compassion in every caregiver they train. This same spirit of care inspired the Akado initiative. Together with Ubinti, Joshua led an impactful mentorship and empowerment drive for the girls — teaching them about confidence, menstrual health, and the power of believing in their dreams. The event also provided sanitary pads, hygiene kits, and an open conversation platform to help break the stigma surrounding menstruation.

“Empowerment begins with giving girls the freedom to show up — every day, without shame,” said Joshua.

As Ubinti, we believe every visit like this plants seeds of possibility in young minds — and at Akado Primary, those seeds are already beginning to bloom.
